Harold Krenkel

Harold Krenkel is a Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has thirty-five years of experience in developing innovative and practical solutions across numerous sectors through the application of technical expertise. He has held numerous leadership positions both domestically and internationally including commercial-scale processing plant start-ups, operations, and facility development. These leadership roles have included responsibility for strategic planning, financial management and reporting, client and partner relations, facility and asset management, health and safety, communications, human resources, performance management, and change management.

He also has experience connecting industry, academia, and government in the execution of applied research projects and ultimate commercial deployment. A recent key project is the installation and commissioning of the CO2 capture system at the Alberta Carbon Conversion Technology Centre in Calgary. During this project, he was the point of contact for the engineering company responsible for the site’s civil, electrical, piping, and mechanical interfaces as well as the local permit applications. This role was also responsible for the planning of on-site installation and commissioning activities and interfacing with suppliers to address equipment issues.
