Role Overview: AI/ML Developer

As an AI/ML Intern at Genesis Data Solutions, you'll be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, working on cutting-edge projects aimed at solving complex materials integrity issues in the oil and gas industry. Your primary responsibility will involve developing advanced algorithms and techniques for analyzing large and intricate datasets. You'll play a key role in creating models that provide valuable insights and enable informed decision-making for our clients. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with Corrosion Engineers and a Project Manager to enhance our proprietary AI platform (AI-DDCM) and develop new tools and services. This hands-on experience will allow you to contribute significantly to innovative solutions in corrosion management while gaining valuable industry knowledge and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Architect,  Design, and Implement Data Analysis Pipelines: Extract insights from diverse datasets to support our consultancy services.
• Utilize  Statistical Methods: Design experiments and uncover causal relationships to drive informed decision-making.
• Develop Predictive Models: Use machine learning algorithms to address various clients’ needs and enhance corrosion management solutions.
• Transform and Interpret Data: Integrate data from multiple sources to facilitate comprehensive decision-making processes.
• Showcase Expertise in Web-Based User Interfaces: Craft frontend designs that align with design systems and brand guidelines for user-friendly interfaces.
• Develop Scalable Web Applications Backend: Write well-organized, portable, and self-explanatory code to create adaptable web applications.
• Design and Implement ETL/ELT Processes: Utilize tools such as Python, Spark, SQL, and       Power BI for analytical solutions.
• Establish and Maintain Data Infrastructure: Adhere to software engineering and data management principles to ensure robust data infrastructure.
• Ensure Fair Outcomes for Customers: Uphold high professional conduct and ensure fair outcomes in all client interactions and projects.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently  Pursuing or Holding a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher: In a relevant field such as computer science, statistics, or a related discipline, or recent graduate.
• Proficiency in Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning Techniques: Able to apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms effectively.
• Experience with Programming Languages: Proficient in Python, R, or similar languages for data analysis and software development.
• Experience in Proposal Development and Reporting: Familiarity with preparing proposals and reporting findings effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced  Degree (MS/Ph.D.) in a Relevant Field: Demonstrates deeper theoretical knowledge and advanced skills in areas like computer science, statistics, or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of Software and Data Engineering Principles: Understanding of principles in software engineering, data engineering, or related domains, enhancing the ability to design robust and scalable solutions.
• Experience in Developing User-Centric Software and Data Products: Hands-on experience in creating software and data products that prioritize user experience and usability, ensuring practical application of technical solutions.

Role Overview: Concrete Materials Researcher

As our Concrete Materials Researcher various aspect of concrete design, optimization, evaluation, testing raw materials, implementation, concrete casting, laboratory tests, curing, and analyzing will be performed. Leveraging expertise in concrete technology, stormwater management, and wastewater treatment, will play a crucial role in developing eco-friendly concrete admixtures to address concrete infrastructure microbiologically influenced corrosion (C-MIC) challenges in sanitary sewer systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilizing extensive knowledge of concrete technology and materials to prepare and profile the quality of feedstocks for eco-friendly concrete manufacturing.
• Designing eco-friendly concrete admixtures tailored to mitigating infrastructure biodeterioration, aligning with project objectives and environmental considerations.
• Conducting lab-scale and on-site experiments to optimize admixture designs, assessing modified and non-modified feedstocks' performance under various curing conditions.
• Conducting preliminary technical and economic performance evaluations of the developed concrete admixtures, considering factors such as material costs, durability, and environmental impact.
• Engaging in rigorous reporting and publication activities, drawing from your extensive background in academic research and journal paper submissions, to disseminate project findings and contribute to the scientific community's knowledge base.
• Presenting research findings and project outcomes in technical conferences and workshops, fostering collaboration, and knowledge exchange within the concrete industry.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Concrete engineering, or a related discipline or recent graduate.
• Experience in proposal development and reporting.
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada or have Refugee status in Canada.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of concrete admixture designs from various feedstocks.
• Experience in concrete testing and engineering standards.
